Lexeya
Migration

Move to Lexeya without losing your business history

Your existing data has value. That is why migration is not just a technical transfer of files but a controlled business process.

Five steps

How the move works

Each step has a clear result and needs your sign-off before the next one. Live data is transferred only once the test migration has been checked.

  1. 1

    Analysis of the existing system

A review of data sources, the structure of records, documents and business rules.

  2. 2

    Data mapping

Agreement on how existing data is transferred into the Lexeya structure.

  3. 3

    Test migration

Transfer of a selected data set and a check of the results.

  4. 4

    Review

A joint check of the data and correction of any discrepancies.

  5. 5

    Final cut-over

The agreed transfer of live data and the start of work in Lexeya.

What is transferred

Data that can be transferred

The scope of the transfer depends on how data is recorded in your existing system. During the analysis we work out together what can be transferred automatically, what needs tidying up and what stays in the archive.

  • clients
  • contacts
  • matters
  • documents
  • deadlines
  • notes
  • users
  • historical data, where technically possible

No interruption to work

The test migration runs alongside your existing system, so the firm works as normal while the results are checked.

Checked with you

Together we compare a sample of matters and clients with the old system before the final cut-over.

An agreed cut-over date

The final transfer is planned for a date that puts the least strain on the firm.

Onboarding the team

Users receive instructions for working in Lexeya before their first working day in the new system.

Questions and answers

Frequently asked questions

Which systems can data be transferred from?
From most systems that hold data in a database, in spreadsheets or in an export in a standard format. Exactly what can be transferred is established in the first step, the analysis of the existing system.
How long does migration take?
It depends on the volume of data, the number of sources and how well organised they are. You receive an outline plan with dates after the analysis and data mapping.
What if an error is found after the transfer?
That is why there is a test migration and a joint review before the final cut-over. Discrepancies are corrected before the firm starts working in Lexeya.
Do we have to transfer all historical data?
Not necessarily. Sometimes it is better to transfer active matters and clients and keep older data in an archive. This is agreed in the mapping step.
